Spring Semester announcements

Please see below for announcements about Spring Semester teaching technology resources from CALS-OIT and Cornell’s Center for Teaching Innovation.

As the Spring 2019 semester approaches, I’d like to offer you a chance to become more familiar with the technology in your CALS classroom. Learn about a new classroom, refresh your memory on a familiar one, brush up on your AV skills or learn some new ways that technology can work for you during your classes. Feel free to offer times convenient for you to meet with one of us in your classroom. We’ll arrange a time for you individually or in a group, depending on interest and demand. Of course, you may also explore the room on your own and let us know if you have any questions. Either way you may contact us by phone (255-6466) or by responding to this email. Please include the building name and room number of your class(es).

Thank you,

John Hill and your Classroom Technology Support Team

The Center for Teaching Innovation has two important announcements regarding the iClicker Classroom Polling service for 2019 Spring courses.

  1. We are offering workshops in January.  These are working sessions for those of you new to iClicker as well as those who have previously used iClicker and are looking to set up your courses again. The latest version of the iClicker software will be provided, along with the hardware needed to collect student responses. If you are using iClicker for the 2019 Spring semester, please register for one for these workshops. The full details can be found at:  https://teaching.cornell.edu/spotlights/iclicker-workshops-january-2019   NOTE: There will be one session for instructors using Canvas and three sessions for instructors using Blackboard, so please choose the proper session for your course web site. If you cannot attend one of these workshops, please send an email to acadtech@cornell.edu to schedule a meeting with our group.
  2. For those courses that are not using Blackboard or Canvas course web sites, the student clicker registration process has changed.  Please see our support page for full details.
