Application Streamlining Initiative

The Application Streamlining Initiative, an effort designed to evaluate Cornell’s IT applications and identify opportunities for cost savings at both the unit and campus-wide level, has recommended three types of applications, used across campus, as good candidates for consolidation. There are opportunities to achieve enterprise-wide efficiencies for five additional services.

These phase two recommendations follow the April 2012 completion of phase one, in which more than 1000 applications were inventoried and evaluated so that units could make decisions about their applications based on their value. See Application Streamlining Initiative results in efficiency options for units.
